Cora van Nieuwenhuizen, (1963), has been president of the Energie-Nederland association since 2021. In this role, she represents and promotes the interests of energy companies in the Netherlands. Together with the members, she works on a sustainable, reliable and affordable energy supply.
Before becoming president, she worked in all levels of political government. She initially started her career in 1994 as a local authority councilor for the VVD in Oisterwijk. Then she became a member of the Provincial Executive of Noord-Brabant, and between 2007 and 2010 she became a deputy of the Provincial Executive in this province. In 2010, she was elected to the House of Representatives and as a member of the European Parliament in 2014. Finally, she served as Minister of Infrastructure and Public Works from 2017 to 2021.
