Bill for Collective Heat Act sent to Parliament

The outgoing Minister for Climate & Energy has sent the Collective Heat Act (Wcw) bill to Parliament. Heat networks are an important alternative to heating our homes, schools and other buildings with natural gas. Energie-Nederland is pleased that the bill has now been submitted to Parliament after a long preparation process. It is important that the heat transition in the built environment really accelerates, with affordability being an important theme.

Public realization power is insufficient to achieve the target of 500,000 connections to a heating network in 2030. Chair Cora van Nieuwenhuizen: “I advocate using the implementation power of all heating companies to keep up the pace and give municipalities the space to choose between public companies, private companies, public-private partnerships or heating communities when developing heating networks. ”.
