Electricity & gas general terms and conditions
The energy suppliers, united in Energie-Nederland, have ‘translated’ the General Terms and Conditions for the supply of electricity and gas to small-scale users into simple Dutch. General Terms and Conditions have traditionally always been a legal document most of all, and often involve difficult words and phrases. However, energy suppliers believe it is important that customers can quickly and easily understand what is jointly agreed in a supply agreement. These new terms and conditions in understandable language help with this. What’s more, they are in line with new legislation such as the Consumer Rights Directive and amended guidelines from the Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM). The new terms and conditions were agreed with the Consumer Association and the Homeowners Association, under the auspices of the Social and Economic Council (SER). The Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) was also consulted. The terms and conditions are effective April 1, 2017.
