Energie-Nederland’s response to the rising network costs

The study by Aurora Energy Research shows that network costs for Dutch major consumers will become so high in the coming years that it will harm the Dutch competitive position. Energie-Nederland shares the concerns of the industry and advocates a European level playing field. Energy Netherlands calls on Minister Hermans of KGG to prioritize this in her policy choices.

“At the same time, we would like to see a quick electrification of the industry where possible. The Dutch energy sector is ready to invest in new renewable energy projects in order to be able to meet this rising demand for electricity in a sustainable manner,” says Cora van Nieuwenhuizen, chairman of Energy Netherlands.

As far as Energie-Nederland is concerned, the enormous investments required to upgrade the power grid must partly be financed from general resources, so that the increase in energy bills for households and companies remains limited.
